The Howrigan Farm is a 5th generation family farm, founded in 1872, and is operated by Harold and Ann Howrigan along with their sons Harold Jr, Lawrence, and Michael. The Howrigan Farm consists of 1800 acres of farmland and milks 500 head of Holstein every day. The Howrigan's grow their own hay and corn to feed their cows, and natural springs provide all the water needed for the two cow barns. The Howrigan Farm has been awarded the Distinguished Quality Award from St. Alban Cooperative for each of the 24 years this award has been presented. That is a tremendous honor and you can see why Crescent Ridge Dairy is proud to receive the whole milk from such a prestigious farm. During the summer months, Crescent Ridge Dairy houses the Howrigan Farm heifers, which you can see on our farm in Sharon, MA.
Additionally, the Howrigan family produces award winning Vermont Maple Syrup. They use five teams of horses to haul some of the heavy loads and use wood from the farm to provide fuel for the sugarhouses, and all the dwellings at the farm. The Howrigan family is committed to family values, traditions and being an integral part of agriculture.
